Why is it that sometimes we are the very thing we HATE most in the world... even if just a little bit?Legalism has been holding me back... binding me... keeping me from fully experiencing God's powerful Grace! Do you struggle with being legalistic or judgmental in any area of your life? What I have to remember is that it's not my job to convict others... acting superior or judging their hearts IS NOT MY ROLE IN LIFE... and pssst it's not yours either...
I found it!!!
"For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom." -2 Corinthians 3:17
I'm just in love with Ephesians at the moment.:-) And boo to legalism.
ReplyDeleteIt can be so easy to think we know it all. Thank you God for your grace when we fall into the sin of legalism and judgement. Help me to keep your heart for others in the forefront of my everything.
ReplyDeleteGahh!! I have so discovered this in myself at times. That in my "un-legalism" (sure, that is a word) I actually can be super legalistic. I may not abide by a set of "religious" rules, checking off my Christian task list, but oftentimes I can become religious and pious in my un-religiousity! SOOO incredibly thankful for grace because I am a big mess without it! Lord, help me to walk in your spirit, live in your truth - be light & spread love. Correct me & teach me!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! The first time I read your post I saw the the verse said "whoever the Spirit is..." and not "wherever" .....and I was thinking "WOW, is that legalistic of me that I want to fix that word?" HEHEHEHEHE!! And then you caught it!! Anyhoo.....You are amazing at realizing God's power and His truth! Sheesh...I feel like everyday I am gettin' a swift kick in the bumbum!!! Thanks Linz!!! :)
